Our Mission
Sunrise Inc. was founded to serve individuals with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities through equine assisted therapy. Sunrise, Inc. is a certified barn under the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship – International (PATH) and staffs PATH instructors. We currently have over a dozen horses.
What Makes Sunrise Unique?
Sunrise offers horseback riding and ground lessons throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. Our activity calendar is based around three ten week sessions. Sunrise has an indoor and an outdoor arena, so lessons take place rain or shine. We maintain a herd of several working horses and ponies. We work hard to match participants with the right horse for them.
Our Programs
Sunrise has several different programs to meet the needs of all ages and ability levels.
- Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies
- Veterans Equine Therapeutic Services
- Mentoring
- Internships
Find our more about our programs on our program page.
Our Horses
Sunrise is home to several horses and ponies that we use in our programs. They have access to 6 acres of pasture, a stable, and an indoor and outdoor arena where lessons are held. We are in the process of expanding to 104 acres adjacent to our current home.
